Partition Magic Error 4 While Executing Batch

When it reboots it keeps displaying this message over and over again. I'll get a copy of that -- so my future visits to DOS will be much less frequent.  That said, I can probably live with the CMOS setup method of booting DOS Go into the PartionMagic or Windows Drive Mangement to delete the second partition. First just resize C:\. his comment is here

For various reasons (compatibility, cluster size, ...) keep the parition size <=32GB. Last edited by windowsxpuser00; May 17th, 2007 at 10:30 PM. 1. I think the easiest may have been the last one I suggested on the second to last page using debug.exe  (also from a windows 98 boot disk and you may already
  2. Result: System can't boot hard drive and looks for floppy.
  3. I'm a little short on time as I type this.
  4. I OK the error fixes and unhide the boot partition and set it Active again.  Then I reboot -- but the text from the batch file looks just like the original, setting the partition

  6. On the AUTOEXEC.BAT file:  It's funny that it would appear hidden/system when viewed from XP but not from DOS.  It's just an open/editable ascii text file there.  Wasn't there something about BootMagic

First, I guessed it was because my hard disk had some disk errors. Blackveiled, Jul 2, 2008 #9 Daymar New Member I have this exact problem... I have read a couple of reviews about Nortons Save and Restore and they haven't given it a good write up. Thats the same place autocheck (checkdisk) uses to run check disk in that "blue" screen right before the operating system loads.

Maybe i should have posted this in the linux area instead. Does anyone know if they are any good? Ask the experts! That's bound to work. That's not exactly a smart thing to do, as you'll be wasting quite a lot of space inside every cluster. What is the 16MB FAT partition?  As for the CD Rom drive, I'm assuming you must have other programs in DOS because I don't know what good a CD-Rom will do I have not tried this distro - yet.

Put a copy of that file in the other XP system thats complaining and it should work fine. Ads by Project Wonderful! Yes, my password is: Forgot your password?

thankies. ^^) I'm having some problems resizing an NTFS partition with Partitionmagic 8. Don't worry. The file attributes and view settings between DOS and XP are a little different so just because a file is visible in DOS does not necessarily mean it's visible in XP. Back in XP, move the file to the XP partition and add the line to the boot, ini file for it.
