I am taking 20 images of 9 x 6 chessboard to calibrate through live camera. In my case I brought in my images (when using imread) in color (code CV_LOAD_IMAGE_COLOR); I could also just bring them in in grayscale and skip the conversion entirely. getConvertFunc(sdepth, ddepth) : getConvertScaleFunc(sdepth, ddepth); This is the the function func that you see in cv_assert. Let me know what your solution was, or if there's other ways I can help.
